OUR HISTORY
THE STORY OF HOW IT ALL BEGAN
It was when I was 15 years old that I fled my native country to Tanzania due to civil war. I spent about 10 years living in refugee camp. After I migrated to Australia. It was about another 15 years that I visited my native country where I found that people in Burundi face various health issues especially in rural areas. This experience led me to a zealous belief that high-quality health and mental health education and treatment are the strongest weapons in the fight against poverty, corruption and political instability.
When back to Australia, as a family we decided to save money and start a health Centre in rural area so that it can help to save the lives of children and people who lose their lives due to lack of adequate health services.
In addition, during my visit to Burundi; I have been supported by some of Australian friends who support the project as well. One of them include Stephen Odrocic who went with me to Burundi. I am still seeking people who are keen to support me in this process of establishing a health system in rural area of Burundi which will be able to provide health services to local residents.
